Inspiration: Pumpkins!

It’s not Halloween without pumpkins. While carving them up is the classic route, I found tons of creative ways to dress up these seasonal favorites without getting out the carving set. Don’t forget, if you use real pumpkins you can throw in the silica gel from shoeboxes to keep them from molding. They’re all saved to my Ghosts and Ghouls Board.

Pin of the Day: OMBRÉ!

Maybe I’m way behind the times here, but I just asked myself…what EXACTLY is ombré? I have pinned a couple gorgeous examples of ombré without being completely clear what it was. So, I googled it…and I LOVE it! According to an online dictionary, it is “having colors or tones that shade into each other —used especially of fabrics in which the color is graduated from light to dark”. I define it as gorgeous! This article (yes, from 2008…I am behind) from Martha Stewart gives some great tips and ideas. Here are a couple of my favorite examples from all over the web – they’re also on my Culinary Compilation, Decor Digest, Style Selections, and Party Pins Boards.

Pin of the Day: one glitter nail

What do you think of the one sparkle nail trend? I see these pictures on Pinterest all the time and I am kind of tempted to try it! Here are some of my faves!

I like it the best when the glitter is the same hue as the other polish (or close to it), so that it doesn’t stand out quite as much, it is more of a subtle touch. How would you wear it?

Pin of the Day: Glitter Keys!

Yes, it’s another post about glitter. Or rather, how you can use glitter to beautify your life! Coat the tops of your keys with glue, shake on some glitter, let dry, then repeat on the other side. A Day in the Life has a great tip – use clear nail polish to seal the finished product so glitter doesn’t flake off all over you and your stuff. This is a fantastic project for a rainy day!

I have several keys that look alike and this is a great alternative to the ugly plastic hardware store keys! I added it to my Handmade Hodgepodge Board – this one was easy!

Pin of the Day: Glitter Magnets!

Check out this sweet post from Scissors + Thread: jazz up strong magnets with some chunky glitter. It’s an easy fix for a common problem: pretty magnets often are weak and the best magnets are plain or just plain ugly! I’m going to gather the supplies and next time I’ve got a rainy day I’ll definitely make these happen! I added them to my Handmade Hodgepodge Board.

You can read the original post and tutorial over on Puglypixel.
